The Cavell Group is a partnership that has been formed by a number of senior members of the technology and communications industries. The partners have extensive experience of running substantial international businesses, of launching successful start-ups, and of managing both organic business expansion and mergers and acquisitions.
Pat Chapman-Pincher

In a career of more than 30 years Pat has been responsible for creating and growing major multi-national companies in the Internet, fixed and mobile telecoms sector. Following an early career in IBM and BT, Pat became part of the founding team of MFS International and went on to lead UUNET International with large scale operations in Europe, Asia and Latin America. She has also participated in start-ups of small technology companies and has board level experience in both large and small listed and private companies. Pat has a wide portfolio of interests within the IT sector and works with several larger companies in a non-Executive capacity. She is Senior Non- Executive Director of Pace PLC http://www.pace.com/, a non-executive Director of Stepstone ASA www.stepstone.com and Friends of the Earth (http://www.foe.co.uk/). Pat also has an MA in Environment, Politics and Globalisation from Kings College, London
Michael Clancey
Michael has over 30 years experience of senior operational and technical management in the international IT and communications industries, including recently the planning and budget management of product and network expansion projects for UUNET and WorldCom. Before joining UUNET he worked for many years with Dun and Bradstreet in the US in a number of management roles, and for GE Information Services in the UK, the US and the Netherlands.
Sam Critchley
Sam, an expert in location technologies and social networking, has worked in the Internet and communications industries since graduating in the mid-1990's and has spent a number of years designing and supporting IP networks. Now he is the Vice-President of products and co-founder of GyPSii. He played a major role in the design and implementation of UUNET's backbone network in EMEA and in the consolidation of national networks over a uniform consistent architecture, focussing on the convergence of voice and data networks. Sam founded A2B, the first application which tied mobile device + internet access + location into a service using GPS. The A2B technology evolved into the basis of GyPSii’s location system. As a non-executive board member Sam brings to Cavell a unique vision of location based technologies and the development of the mobile internet. Sam is seen as a technology evangelist through his regular speaking and panel slots around the globe.
Michael Graham
Michael has over 30 years experience in the IT and communications industry where he has held a number of positions at the senior and executive management level. Most recently he was VP of Planning & Engineering, responsible for WorldCom's voice and data networks throughout the EMEA region. Prior to that in setting up UUNET's network and operations organisation in EMEA. Before joining UUNET Michael spent many years with GE Information Services in a number of management positions in the UK, US, and the Netherlands.
Arno Overmeer
Arno has over 20 years experience of technical engineering and management in the Telecoms industry, recently as Director of Engineering for one of the largest EMEA Telco's. Prior to this he led the implementation of the first transatlantic and trans-European IP/MPLS network operating at the STM16 level (UUNET). Arno has wide experience of network design and implementation, and of converging network technologies in both the Telecoms and the enterprise environments, where he is currently involved in the design and rollout of a 50+ country converged network implementation, including extensive QOS, LAN/WAN design standardization and IPT (Avaya).
Gail Smith
Gail has worked in the communications industry for over 20 years. Her current focus is in the mobile broadband market. Gail is responsible for establishing Cavell’s program of WiMax Forum ® Certified training and building Cavell’s expertise in all aspects of WiMax service. She has been personally active in rolling out and managing WiMax class networks in Europe. Gail was most recently interim Managing Director of Clearwire Belgium (http://www.clearwire.com/) which is offering residential internet using WiMax class technology. Gail has a long experience leading multinational companies in Europe. She led Level3 Communication’s European rollout as President of Europe. Prior to Level3, Gail helped found MFS International and was General Manager of its international network. Earlier in her career Gail worked for Motorola. In addition to general management, Gail has significant experience in product management, marketing, and sales management.
