Director of Technical Services & Training
Gail has worked in the communications industry for over 25 years. She has a long history of launching new capabilities in the high-speed data and Internet market. Gail was VP and GM of MFS (WorldCom) international data network – where she grew the inter-country business by over 300%.
Prior to that she was GVP and President at Level 3 Europe, where she managed a $2 Billion cash envelope and she took the organisation from start-up to $120 Million of revenue operating in 5 countries. This included the acquisition of 2 ISPs. She also was GM Belgium, Clearwire international’s early 4G network– where she oversaw a renewed network build program, stabilized the existing operation, and relaunched the service.
She also oversaw a European wide program to enhance the Clearwire automated order and provisioning system. Gail has also conducted operating model reviews and strategic roadmap sessions for a wide range of customers in Europe, Africa and Middle East.
Director of Technical Services & Training
As Founding-Partner of Cavell, along with Cavell Technical Services teams, he produces in-depth auditing reports, with follow-up design, implementation, and support of the recommendations. During the past few years he has been concentrating on datacentre virtualisation & Energy Management. He is a Qualified VMware Professional (VCP) & Joulex(Cisco-Energy-Wise).
With over 30 years of experience in the IT and telecom business, he held a number of positions at the senior and executive management level. Prior to starting Cavell, he was the VP Planning & Engineering of EMEA (now known as Verizon) responsible for regional voice and data networks. He also helped setting up UUNET’s network and operations organisation in EMEA.
His experience includes holding a number of management positions with G.E. Information Services both in the UK and Netherlands. At Cavell, he now runs our Professional Services & Education teams primarily providing “white label” telecoms projects in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, from board-level management and restructuring, through network-based financials, to complete network, product design and engineering.
Director of Research & Consulting
Matthew is a respected analyst who has led a number of high-profile consultancy projects for multinational clients such as BT, O2, Vodafone, Level 3, Telkom South Africa, South Korea Telecom and Belgacom. His market analysis skills combined with his product management & sales experience enable him to undertake broad-based market and business analysis and to develop comprehensive business plans & market strategies.
He is a recognised expert in the area of hosted communications with frequent speaking engagements and published research. Matthew's focus has been very much the development of new markets. Early in his career he launched the first UK magazine devoted entirely to the Internet, and he then went on to join PIPEX, the first commercial provider of internet access in the UK.
When PIPEX was acquired by UUNET he was appointed Product Director responsible for launching one of the first multinational VPN services in Europe, and subsequently became Senior Director of all indirect channel activities for Verizon in EMEA. After leaving Verizon he became Marketing Director at Inclarity, one of Europe's earliest providers of VOIP services.
Sam is a highly enthusiastic and creative technology evangelist, connector and entrepreneur with extensive technical, product, and business experience from coming up with ideas, developing their technology, planning their implementation all the way through to putting them into practice and making sure customers are never left unsatisfied.
He specialises in retail apps, mobile and web technology, with a big vision on how physical retail is going to make a comeback and what kind of technologies and strategies are needed to enable that comeback.
His experience includes Social Local Mobile apps and services, backend and analytics systems to measure and analyse customer conversion and other business metrics, service provider and corporate networks, internet, VPN and telecoms equipment and protocols.
He is passionate about starting and growing new technology companies, a successful example being Spaaza, a marketing platform for retailers which he co-founded and is CTO of.

Dominic joined Cavell at the beginning of 2013 as our UK market Analyst and has built a great knowledge of the UK European VoIP markets. Dominic has authored research and whitepapers and speaks & attends industry events around Europe.
Dominic has also travelled widely while working on consultancy projects both in Europe & in the Middle East, giving him good knowledge of different market Dynamics.
Rob is an experienced cloud and cloud communications entrepreneur and consultant. As VP Europe of the Cloud Communications Alliance, Rob is well connected to the most ambitious hosted voice and UCaaS providers and their technology partners.
Rob is a frequent speaker and writer. He founded a hosted voice provider (Voipro) and has advised clients such as Liberty Global, HP Enterprise, KPN & Dell.
Mike Wilkinson is a senior marketing professional with more than 25 years’ experience developing and delivering go-to-market programs for cloud service providers in Europe, North America and Asia.
Mike ran the go to market team at BroadSoft working with many of the world's largest and innovative service providers. Prior to BroadSoft Mike held VP marketing and CMO roles at Alcatel, Newport Networks and Oneaccess.
Marc de Marcillac
Marc is an accomplished Management Consultant, with wide digital sales and delivery skills, especially in the financial services and public sectors. His strong track record of selling and delivering consulting programmes to business and technology organisations has maximised cross-selling opportunities to grow consulting portfolios.
Having worked and lived overseas during his career, he has broad international and cross-cultural experience, combined with a legal background and 15 years of sales and consulting experience with IBM and Cisco.
He has consistently developed strategic business opportunities, whilst supporting clients to drive digital change and adoption and manage complexity.
Dave brings his practical knowledge of running the operations team for a VoIP provider, and his well-established International Market Experience to Cavell’s customers.
Dave was COO of Inclarity, a leading VoIP provider and previous to this held senior European Marketing roles both for Avaya and Nortel with a career of over 20 years working in the communications market. Dave has been consulting specifically in the enterprise space in the last few years so brings a real practical knowledge of the challenges of the enterprise customer.
Dave has worked in the telecoms industry for over 35 years. He held senior European roles with Avaya, Nortel and Siemens. He has worked with Cavell in the UK, Ireland, Botswana and South Africa. He also runs a successful UK telecoms brokerage company.
Tony specializes in developing business models, forecasting models, core pricing and business strategies. He has 10 years' international management experience running commercial finance and pricing functions in the telecommunications sector at director and VP level.
In roles at MCI, FLAG Telecom, Inclarity and KPNQwest, he established a respected reputation for understanding the relationship of corporate financial requirements to those of both the sales function and customers and then translating these into readily saleable pricing programs.
In the last 8 years Tony has been consulting and working with illume for the last 5 years, he will be involved in building the Dashboard and the forecast modelling.

Luis Ximenez Gomez
Luis is an experienced network engineer, having worked with global leading companies such as AT&T, Juniper and Telefonica International Wholesale Services. For the past 10 years, Luis has been holding his position as Juniper Networks Instructor, as part of the Cavell Consulting team.
He is a Juniper Networks certified instructor, working as a freelance teacher and giving courses all over the world to different customers (Juniper, Nokia Siemens Networks, BT, T-Com, Level3, Telefonica, Google, Interoute, NYSE, KPN, Jazztel).
He specializes in Advanced courses for the M/T/MX series of the Juniper portfolio - advanced routing, policy, VPN, CoS, etc. He also has a wide experience organizing boot camps for candidate certification (JNCIS/JNCIP/JNCIE) as well as courseware development.
Hugo has a solid education in electronics, people management and business analysis. His experience includes Value Creation in RoC, Joint Venture negotiations, Government institutional negotiations, Sales generation, Operational Management Telco, Staffing, country profit and loss responsibility at Worldcom and being the lead member in MVNO negotiations with Mobistar but also regarding roaming allowance of Mobistar on Telenet's WiFi network whilst being Executive VP at Telenet Solutions.
He is founder and managing director of CIPN Management Consulting and responsible for International Business Development at Penzias. Hugo has helped Cavell run substantial international businesses, launch successful start-ups, designed, implemented and activated several of the largest IP infrastructures in EMEA, and has participated in managing both organic business expansion and mergers and acquisitions.
Antonio has worked in large enterprise IT product & service sales, outsourcing & digital transformation, and a proven track record in different market verticals and geographies with companies like Siemens, Verizon and Cisco.
His experience consists of 5 years proven track record in the Financial Services vertical, selling and delivering global network transformation for very large organisations: Royal Bank of Scotland, ABN AMRO and ING bank, and 4 years in the Oil&Gas industry, advising on IT strategy, adoption and implementation of enterprise architecture practices, developing cloud services strategies, architectures and business cases. Antonio is also able to demonstrate technical infrastructure expertise, specifically in data centre cloud services, network architecture, security and unified communications & collaboration.
Arnold is a highly skilled, result driven Sr. Network Solution Designer with more than 15 years’ experience in designing, managing, monitoring and auditing, carrier-grade, complex networks with a number of established companies such as Ziggo, T-Mobile and ING Bank.
Since 1 September 2009 he’s the proud owner of the company named "Harteveld ICT Consultancy", where he offers his professional services as an independent Network Consultant.

Adriaan Voeten is an experienced Project Manager with a focus on reliability and getting the job done.
He has been working with Cavell as a Technical Consultant / Project Manager for IT Energy Measurement and Legacy Network Clean-up Specialist, but also led many other projects on the side, with established companies, such as Ziggo, KPN, Newtel Essence, Verizon, and Telfort.
His background experience comes from being a Senior Network Architect for Alcatel-Lucent. In his spare time Adriaan enjoys micro adventures such as overnight trail runs and bike rides.
Harald has a solid education and development track record and his vast experience includes CCIE R&S certification, CCIE DC exam, CCDE exam, VCP3, TOGAF 9 foundation, ITIL 3 foundation.
He has been leading engineering teams in multi-technology projects, demonstrating strong customer interaction through workshops and presentations, solving complex situations through structured approach and gaining project experience in large merger environments. He has worked in Europe, Middle East, and U.S. and has led the creation and documentation of methodology and best practices for key players in the market, such as Cisco Systems and Tech Mahindra.
Adam has a background knowledge in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications Engineering which he developed during his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the Technical University of Lodz, Poland and the Technical University of Denmark.
He is a Cisco Network and Design Certified Professional and has a Cisco Internetwork Expert Security license as well as an Office of Government Commerce ITIL certification. He has worked with a number of prestigious companies such as Verizon, AT&T and Cisco as a Network Consulting Engineer.
Wim van Sebroeck
Wim is one of our trusted engineers supporting Cavell Group & UNI for a network security project for over 7 years. He has extensive knowledge and experience in LAN/WAN technologies and projects. His background demonstrates skills in systems engineering, project and operations management and telecom consultancy, gained through experience with well-established companies such as Belgacom, UUNET (now Verizon), Worldcom, Verizon, and USG People. He is currently holding partner roles for 2 companies E-solutions (also consultant) and Perceval Infra (also Technical Director) and owns a successful network & telecom consultancy business NTS (Network & Telecom Services/Qbone.net).
Menno is an experienced network engineer, having undertaken multiple projects with companies such as Dataman, iTricity, Securelink, SolidBE, etc. He specialises in networking, security and virtualisation and has the following Juniper certifications: JNCIA-JUNOS, JNCIA-IDP (exp), JNCIA-EX (exp), JNCIS-SEC, JNCIP-SEC, as well as a Clavister cOS Core Fundamentals Certification and Brocade BCNE, BCNP, BCEFP, BCLE.
Menno is particularly experienced in HP ProCurve stackables / chassis, MSM, IMC, Meru Networks, Meraki, KEMP, Cisco switching/routing, Mellanox, and Solarflare NICs. He also runs his own company, Circle B, a business that specialises in revolutionary IT Infrastructures - Open Compute Project based Solutions.
Hans is an experienced systems administrator / software engineer with 15+ years in designing and writing client/server based software for large ISP businesses. He started building his IP skills in '95, when he joined NLnet, the first commercial ISP in the Netherlands. Hans has been responsible for setting up an EMEA wide system for fault monitoring networks, servers and services, based on Netcool/Omnibus; many solutions were hand tailored to fit new equipment in this setup. Hans' strengths are OSS software design and engineering, administrating Unix systems and scaling soft and hardware. He has over a decade experience with Perl, C, SH, SQL. Languages: English and Dutch.
Bassili has over 20 years of experience in the communications industry in both commercial management and technical roles. He has deep experience in budgeting, forecasting and planning functions that tie together product and network. At UUnet he led planning and implementation for the international backbone IP and SDH network and then at Worldcom (Verizon Business) led a 100-person team for metro network planning throughout Europe (fibre, SDH, Class 5 voice). He also has held a variety or product marketing and commercial roles in both WorldCom and Motorola. He was chosen by Carlyle Group to be an entrepreneur in residence, where he helped evaluate deal flow in the telecom's area. Early in his career he led implementation teams for microwave networks. Bassili holds the Juniper Networks engineering qualification JNCIS for service provider track. He is also a certified Wimax RF and Core engineer and was an instructor for both RF and core networking courses. Languages: English, French and Arabic.
IP Design Consultant
Yogen has a solid background in understanding networks having worked over 7 years as an Engineering Design Authority for Verizon where he took part in different projects and was responsible for technology innovation and security, the management of multiple tiers of Engineers, he served as the Primary escalation point for both Customer and Tier 3 support, assisted project managers with the scoping of work, responsibilities extended to Service improvement plans, cost reductions, technology and security advancement and enhancement discussions, reporting etc. Prior to this as a network engineer with companies such as Internet Solutions and Comparex. He speaks Dutch and Afrikaans and has a number of Network Design and Implementation certifications including CCIE#41306 R&S, CCIE DC (Written), Cisco DCNI, CCNA, CCNP, CCIP, Cisco SECURE, Brocade BCNP, BCEFP, and BCVRE, Riverbed Certified Solutions Associate - WAN Opt (RSCA-W) and WAN Opt (RSCP-W), A10 Ax, A10 TPS, and Juniper JNCIA-ER, and MCP.
Nuno currently holds Juniper and Cisco certifications, and has conducted various assignments within international scope as an IP networking engineer and IT systems administrator. He has performed tasks such as professional services, resident engineering, conformance testing, technical support, network troubleshooting, network integration, network operation and was also a member of an international emergency response team for telecommunications service providers. He has performed customer-facing activities as well as remote back office support or most commonly known as "TAC".
Nuno has hands-on experience and is fluent with both Juniper E-Series routers and Juniper M/T/MX-Series routers. In his free time, he also likes to do programming in C language and is an active developer with the DragonFly project, a BSD licensed open-source operating system.
Arno has a vast experience in designing and leading technical organizations. He led UUNet‘s (now Verizon Business) European technical team as Technical Director. In this roles he built out the first Tier 1 ISP in Europe. During this build out he oversaw the integration of 5 acquired ISPs
Arno lead our professional services practice where he has overseen a wide variety of projects, often directly participating as a consultant. This includes audit and diligence work, large migration projects and design and builds both of data centre and core networks. His mix of technology, program and organizational experience enables him to review, lead and consult on the technical implementation and migration as well as on organizational, process and OSS system requirements.
Ciaran is a highly qualified network engineer with over 15 years of experience in designing and implementing network technology in large-scale Telecom and Data centre environments. Prior to joining the Cavell Group, Ciaran has worked in key roles for Telefonica Germany, Cable and Wireless, Amraf Training and Toughglass.
