Mobile Handset Testing

Performance of mobile handsets is a much mis-understood science. Often, issues attributed by the user to other factors such as network coverage and signal strength are actually a result of the limitations of the handset itself. Moreover, what appears to be the same handset in different (international) markets, may actually perform differently, due to differences in hardware, firmware and software. As a result, there is a very real requirement for the testing of mobile handsets, in order to establish their real credentials, individually, and relative to each other.

Whether a mobile operator, TelCo or enterprise looking to arm large sales forces with mobile handsets, knowing - in advance - what are the best options, depending on the requirements for those handsets, independent of the handset vendors, is a major advantage. The testing is not restricted purely to voice, but extends to mobile applications and video. It is completely scientific and repeatable, so is ideal for creating an ongoing database of handset performance, vendor to vendor and model to model. At the same time, the testbed uses real-world traffic, so is anything but a pointless, technical simulation. Instead, it provides real-life tests, but with complete scalability and accurate measurement of every performance aspect.
