The Challenge
Transforming the client’s networking and security to cloud-based architecture with Internet and hyper-scaler backbone as primary underlay, removing existing MPLS. Moving away from a global managed service to in-house management.
Client Need
The SD-WAN Vendor needed highly skilled enterprise solutions consultants to accomplish the network transformation.
Our Approach
Cavell worked closely with the client’s core team and third-party providers, including vendors and service providers.
-
Led vendor pre-sales efforts and delivered successful production POCs
-
Architected and designed global network with multi-region network covering 130+ countries
-
Led the transition from legacy MPLS to global core based on Internet and Hyperscaler backbone
-
Facilitated the conversion between the client, legacy service provider, and a new Hyperscaler
-
Helped building a global NOC organisation
-
Trained 50+ people in global NOC and COE organisation as well as regional IT managers
The Outcome
Cavell has helped the client to successfully transition from legacy MPLS to a modern network based on Cloud core and Internet. The transformation has led to significant savings with ~40% WAN cost reduction due to MPLS to Internet transition. As a result, the client’s insourced network is now managed by a global NOC and COE organisation, who were trained and capable of managing 1500+ SD-WAN sites in over 130 countries.Â
